Today is my first day to post anything on blog....although I created my blog a month ago but I was taken by car blasts in my office compound. It all happened suddenly and I don't know what the reason behind it is. The so-called insurgencies that call themselves Al-Shabab claimed the act.

Heavens what is going on here.....why is that happening with Somalis? For over 20yrs we were lawless with no direction at all and it never gets enough...now some sick people calling themselves Islamic movements are in the picture and they are killing their own people!!! Hey, as I said it never gets enough, now we have sea pirates and they are hijacking ships like no tomorrow at all. What really kills me is that no one is doing anything; they are just there watching how lousy and horrible the country is getting every passing day. Now we have Al-Qaeda cells hiding under all these chaos and using fake name like Islamic Courts Union and Al-Shabab. American sent the Ethiopian troops to backup the Transitional Federal Government and till today it is getting worse then any improvement.

I am from Somaliland (North West Somalia) where the Southern part of Somalia was in chaos, Somaliland was enjoying peace and stability. Our economy is weak but we were surviving well, we have our currency, government structure and Military forces that made lots of other Somalis jealous and envious to blast us with three different planned car blasts and it been claimed by Al-Shabab insurgencies. Is it fair??? We will never find out.

Today while I was taking the bus to the office I was hearing the BBC breaking news/latest news on Somalia pirates, the Al-Shabab insurgencies is upset because the pirates hijacked an oil ship belongs to Saudi Arabia; they were upset enough by saying it is no where in the Islamic religions that tell us to hijack or take what other Muslim brothers own!!! DAH!!! And where was the Islamic religion when killing innocent people and by the way MUSLIM too!!! Gosh, are they for real; they are so much confused that they don't know the right from the wrong, where is it in Islam religion that encourage killings of innocent people Muslim or non-Muslim!!!

I just ask everyone that we pray hard for them to get WELL and SANE!!

Very Sad
Hi Salam!
This is just a propaganda. In Islam no where mentioned to kill innocent people (Innocent people includes Muslim or Non-Muslim both).

welcome
i appreciate your courage in expressing yourself on the evils about your country
i believe the solution of the somalian crises will come from a good leader somaliland doesnt have a dynamic and carismatic leader. the somalians should also be willing to change.
if jobs are created for example it will eradicate piracy because in somalia
thus encourage development. let the internation community say something concrete.

More
It has problem of most developing countries that they dont have great leaders. On other words most of the countries have lack of great leaders. That is the main cause really. Our leaders are not honest with our countries. Even though we have great labour. If we use our labour in our country then we will soon become a developed nation. It is not happening (Very Sad).

i agree
Samira, i feel the same way you do, though they didnt attack our compound UNDP Garowe, we had colleagues who were hurt or even killed by the blasts. IWe are all affected by the consequences. t is really scary, sad and indeed you are asking the right questions. It is good that you started a discussion on this.
Lets pray for peace in our homelands.

Hi Samira,

This is a very disheartening situation. Just that people do hide under religion umbrella do carry out their evil acts. Phew! But i pray that God should grant them the true heart of PEACE for their land and LOVE for their brothers.

Thank You All
I thank you all for your comments, it gave me a great sense of relief and I am just so happy to know that everyone really cares in what happens in the forgotten land. Thank you Sahro and I am sorry I never responded to the personal email you sent me, things are so chaotic down here but we are finally setteling down.

sorry to hear that
your blog...It's really touching.Somalia has frequently been in trouble and now the somalian pirates have been making news all around...it feels bad to hear that because of a fraction of bad people like them the whole community has been blamed.....I'm not a muslim but i have several muslim frens and they are like brother to me...And i believe nowhere it has been written to kill innocent people in the name of religion........Every religion in this world promotes harmony and peace between the people.....it's the way you take....I believe every cloud has a silver lining and so does your's
Hope you'll have peace and prosperity
Regards Biplav

Touching
Very touching indeed. Samira, u r good at expressing ur actual feelings and putting them into the right words. In the world of today, we put our principles into play only when it is convenient for us to do so. No wonder Suadi arabian authorities rush to issue fatwas when their oil tanker has been hijacked.

I also tend to blv that the pirates are actually doing the job of the national coast guards as all the Somalis (in Somaliland or the South) have no one to protect their natural aquatic resources bu worse of all they have no power to stand against those dumping nuclear waste in our coasts.

I never thought anybody claimed these attacks, and if it is Alshabab claiming it, well, that must be very confusing.
Nice words by the way and keep up the blog. It takes a while till u make it your best friend, in which time u will entertain us with such an eloquent prose.
